    In 2022, Strathcona County was just the 12th municipality in Canada to become certified as a Bird Friendly City! To celebrate, we've been collecting nominations and votes from community members to determine what the County's official bird should be. Sixteen birds have battled it out and now we are down to the Final Two! 


    For the month of September you can vote for your favourite and help pick Strathcona County's Community Bird. Which will it be, the Pileated Woodpecker or the Blue Jay?

To celebrate, we've been collecting nominations and votes from community members to determine what the County's official bird should be. From May 13 to June 11, County Voice members shared and voted, and the top 12 made it to the first round of match-ups! The first round of match-ups have closed and the top four made it to the semi-finals!


    In the semi-finals, you can vote for your favourites in two match-ups.Votes will remain open until August 31. Make sure to come back in September for the final showdown!
