FAQs
Why is the library engaging with the community?
Every three to five years Strathcona County Library creates a new service plan to ensure we are meeting the current needs in our community. We then use that plan to inform what we do.
To make sure our new service plan reflects the needs of Strathcona County residents, we want to hear from as many community voices and perspectives as possible.
How can I share my ideas?
We want to make joining the conversation easy, with online and in-person opportunities for you to share your ideas.
From October 1-20 anyone can participate in our online survey and we will be hosting a number of in-person engagement opportunities, for both urban and rural community members.
The details for both will be kept up-to-date on this page.
How will the information you collect be used?
What we hear from you will help Strathcona County Library identify gaps in our services or opportunities to try something different. We will use the input we’ve collected from across the community to help us write our upcoming three-year service plan. A report of the findings and what we heard will be shared back with the community.
Can I still participate if I have never used library services?
Yes! We want to hear from as many community voices and perspectives as possible and make our services more welcoming and accessible for everyone in our community.
We invite you to tell us how you use the library now (even if you don't!) and offer your unique perspectives to shape library service in the years to come.
