Community check-in
A community check-in for the Recreation and Culture Strategy ran from May 1 - 21. This included a community survey, youth survey, two Community Conversations with community groups and a community group survey.

Since the strategy was created in 2019, Strathcona County has:
- Enhanced welcoming spaces and places for all residents to enjoy, such as free and accessible winter opportunities at The Broadmoor and hosted the 2023 Special Olympics Alberta Winter Games
- Built new infrastructure including a skateboard park in Ardrossan and new spray decks in Sherwood Park’s McPherson and Summerton Parks
- Facilitated active and creative opportunities for seniors to reconnect with friends and make new friends
- Improved accessibility at a variety of facilities, including the addition of universal changerooms at the Kinsmen Leisure Centre, the pool pod at the Emerald Hills Leisure Centre and the accessible box office at Festival Place
- Maintained existing assets such as revitalizing Millennium Place
