We are seeking your input on initiatives aimed at increasing housing affordability within Strathcona County. Specifically, increasing opportunity for secondary suites in additional housing forms and residential zones, adding opportunities for garden suites in low density residential zones and reducing barriers to having suites (not requiring on-site parking, streamlining the application process).


What is being considered?

The County is seeking feedback on the following considerations:

  • Opportunities for secondary suites in additional housing forms and residential zones within Sherwood Park and hamlets;

  • Opportunities for garden suites in larger lot, low density residential zones, within Sherwood Park and hamlets; and

  • Removing the requirement for one dedicated on-site parking space for secondary suites and garden suites.
