CSA and supporting the small local food producers

Why is it that we do not have a listing of all the local community supported agriculture providers in Strathcona County. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Community-supported_agriculture

Why do we have competing farmer's markets on the same day? I rarely shop at the local farmer's market because instead of one large market like St. Albert where the vendors are curated and selected, we have 4 markets in SHPK that compete with each other. The best market is the Adrossan market on Tuesday night.

I have bought into a CSA for as long as I lived in Strathcona County. Currently my CSA is near Camrose and the best part is that I have to help in the garden twice each summer. CSAs are the best way to get weekly fresh organic vegetables and at the same time provide farmers with funds to start their growing season. I also buy into a weekly egg, chicken and sometimes honey CSA. I buy every year 1/4 of beef and sometimes half a pork.

I supplement my CSA basket by growing veggies in my garden including in my front yard.

if we want to support the local production of food, we need to rethink our local farmer market and support small local producers to work cooperatively to market and sell their wares.
