Council approves budget 2025

Thank you! Your feedback helped Council deliver a budget that balances what we must do to keep our community functioning - along with ensuring supports and services are planned for future generations.

Strathcona County Council has approved a 3.90 per cent property tax revenue increase for 2025, one of the lowest in the region, ensuring continued high-quality services for residents.

The estimated impact of a 3.90 per cent increase on a typical residence assessed at $460,000 will be $85 per year, or $7 per month.

The final municipal tax rate will be approved in spring of 2025. View the media release for the 2025 budget here.

Fall survey results: Survey results were presented to Priorities Committee on October 8. Council will consider this important feedback as they enter into budget discussions in November. View the presentation here.

Thanks and congratulations to Geoff M., Mike H., Megan G., Sarah D., and Christine L who were the lucky winners of our $50 grocery gift card draw for their participation in our fall 2025 budget survey.

Spring survey results: Check out the report highlights presented to Council in July, or read the full report here. Our fall engagement builds on this feedback, and helps clarify any areas where there were information gaps.
